The jewish cardinal.
Jean-Marie Lustiger, a Jew who became a Catholic cardinal. A truly remarkable destiny. Aged 14 during the Occupation, he converts to Catholicism despite his parents’ disapproval. His mother dies deported and he breaks with his father who doesn’t accept his son’s choice. Ordained a priest, he rises fast in the hierarchy of the Church, thanks to Pope Jean Paul II who becomes his friend. But in 1985, a Polish convent of Carmelite nuns is established within the walls of Auschwitz where his mother died in the gas chamber.
This event triggers off the most serious rift between Jews and Christians since WWII. And Lustiger, a man of God unlike any other, is chosen to find a solution to a conflict that devastates him personally.
